We decided to begin our investigation.
Steven then took my group into Shrieves Barn which is actually connected to Shrieves House. We all congregated into a room approx. 10ft x 10ft and Steven [the owner and historian for the night] began to talk about Shrieves Barn.
No soon as he had began to talk that I heard the floor boards directly above us creeking as if someone was walking around above us.
"Did anyone hear that?" as Steven was talking about the age of the Barn. Several people in the group all agreed that they too had heard the noise above us.
I asked Steven if there was anybody upstairs as all my group was with me and Steven. No there should be nobody up there. This moment passed and we as a group then moved into another room downstairs and Steven continued to talk and again the noises above continued. We all tried to concentrate on Steven but I am sure many of us were wanting to know what was upstairs.
During the tour around, Steven then took us all upstairs. As we were walking up I automatically felt rushes of cold air around me.
I said nothing as I thought it was my mind playing tricks with me.
At this point I decided that the talking should stop and asked Lorraine [our medium] to commence a vigil. Not long into the vigil and Lorraine made contact with a female spirit. Was this the same spirit as in the waiting room when we first arrived I asked. No this was a female who is trying to re-enact her death to me mentally.
She is describing how she was either pushed or fell down these very steps that we were standing / sitting on. At this moment one of my guests said the name Elizabeth had appeared in her mind and Lorraine agreed. Who was Elizabeth?
This vigil ended after approx 30 minutes and we were all then taken into a room that led off from the stairways area. I decided to be the last one to leave. As I scanned my torch around this area i put my left hand onto the banisters and something touched one of my fingers. Nothing fell onto me and I was on my own.
It was unexplainable and something that will always be remembered as one of my many paranormal "moments".
I now knew we could all be in for a very interesting evening.
The group and myself gathered in this next room and I asked for us all to be quiet and listen out for anything.
After about 5 minutes some of us including myself heard a shuffle of feet coming from the landing area.
Nobody went to investigate but it was clearly another paranormal moment. Nothing else significant happened and Steven then explained that he was about to take us into "the most negative" room in the building.
Past paranormal groups have experienced many different things in this room. Some have actually been pushed and thrown around and this is all due to a man who in his time had been caught for raping and killing 5 poor females and his name was **** ******
I suppose for obvious reasons most of us felt threatened although nothing was happening to begin with.
I felt this was an opportune time to take a break and return to this room in 20 minutes time.
After a break consuming pies, sandwiches and fluids we all agreed as a group to split up into 2.
I took the decision not to venture back to "that room" just yet.
I formed a group of 8 people who together with Lorraine and myself went to a room downstairs to experiment Table Tipping.
The other group of 7 went to another part of the building with Steven.
In this room stood a table oval shaped made of oak possibly and quite heavy, much heavier than the tables we normally use.
We all circled the table and put our finger tips onto the table. Lorraine then began to make contact with "spirit".
I would say for about 5 or so minutes nothing happened and then the table started to move slowly at first.
Around this same time and Lorraine picked up a female presence in the room. I attempted to also interact with her and she did appear to react to the name of ******.
However I cannot be certain if this was correct.
Now this large and heavy table was beginning to move more quickly and violently around the room.
Lorraine asked the spirit to raise the table and it began to rise up onto 2 legs.
Eventually the table toppled over onto its side.
Having picked it up we attempted this again and again it happened.
At this same time the noises above us began again.
I decided at this point to leave the group for a few minutes and walked down the corridor to the stairs.
I called out to see who was up there without any reply!
I decided not to venture upstairs but as I was returning to the group I heard one of the male guest shout something.
I rushed back to join the group and Ian had felt a rush of cold air go past him and at the same time a chair that was placed by a wall behind him had fallen over.
He promised that nobody was anywhere near it when this happened. Was this a paranormal act!
We all collected ourselves and by this point it was time to swap the groups over and Stevens’s group of 7 came in to join us.
We decided to try something different.
The other group came in to join us and we all discussed the activity that had just happened.
We all gathered our energies again but this time we decided to put Lorraine’s smaller light table on top of the larger table that we had been working with.
The spirit activity began straight away and the larger table started to move [on its own] from side to side.
Lorraine asked the female spirit to hold the smaller table in place to prevent it from sliding off whilst the bigger table was raising itself onto 2 legs.
We successfully completed this experiment twice.
As the group and myself were beginning to feel drained it was time for yet another break.
In front of a warm log fire, the group were all discussing their own experiences.
It had been a very interesting and active location to date.
After our break for tea/coffee i suggested that it wa time as a group to return back to "that room" upstairs.
We all walked along the dark passageways up the stairs and arrived in this room where our negative spirit came in visitation.
Tracey who was a new member to my team was given the opportunity to find out more about this spirit.
She suggested that we all sit down on the wooden flooring and we gave her time to connect.
Tracey became nervous about a male presence who was in the other room and about to join us.
This was **** ****** who had been a rapist and murderer in his day.
I was sitting by the doorway that led into our room and I can only describe it as a large black mass that appeared to float into our room.
At this moment I smelt what can only be described as rotten eggs and Tracey informed us that he was walking around our circle breathing on us and this is what I and others could smell.
Tracey had to explain his movements and actions as she can see spirit this was very helpful to understand what was happening.
Tracey told the group that "he" liked some of the ladies in the group and was stopping to study some of them.
I began to ask him questions at this point.
Are you remorseful in what you were found guilty of?
Tracey told me that he was just looking and sniggering at me.
I decided to show him no respect and went through a series of comments which Tracey told me was bothering him and that I should watch out!
At this point in time, 3 of the men in the group each felt a kick in the leg, a light punch to the stomach and the third a tap on the arm.
I felt nothing during this time.
This very negative spirit continued to circle my group and some of us continued to smell the smell i mentioned earlier.
Tracy our other medium was told [ by this spirit] to stand up and walk towards the door. She did and waited there for some minutes and then she replied " I am not doing that".
We asked what she meant by this comment but she did not wish to say and we are still to this day unaware of what "he" had said to her.
I could see that some in the group were getting tired and the para - normal activities were not as regular now as they had been, i decided that this was a good time to wind up proceedings.
There was another room downstairs which is known to be haunted by a little girl but this would have to wait for another time.
It was now 4.30 am and we all made our way back to our meeting room to have a quick discussion about the nights events.
I loaded everything into the Mini Bus and we all set off for home.

My conclusions;
I always enter a building with an open mind and i can never be sure of what to expect but i was not dissapointed with Shrieves House.
Lots of para - normal activity, many people experiencing many things and i will most definately return to Shrieves House again.
