Stanley Palace - Part 1

Stanley Palace is quite a remarkable building set in the centre of Chester just at the bottom of Watergate Street.

Stanley Palace is a 16th Century Grade 2 listed building looked after nowadays by a charitable society called "The friends of Stanley Palace".

I first visited this building last year and could not believe the para-normal activity that i witnessed and i always promised myself i would return.

So the journey began at 4.00pm on Saturday the 10th of March.

With a mini bus filled with diesel i travelled to my pickup point in Southport to collect 12 eager guests and with a further 7 making their own way to the event this was to be my biggest group of the year.

We set off from Southport and by 5.30 pm, we were in Chester.

I gave the group directions how to return to Stanley Palace as i needed time on my own to sort out the catering and other jobs and it had been pre arranged that my group would take in the sights of Chester and return to me at around 7.30pm.

And so they went off and i walked up to the heavy wooden doors of Stanley Palace and let myself in.

Maybe it was me but as soon as i entered the hallway the atmosphere felt heavy.
I ignored this and began to set up the buffet.

I had to go into the end room downstairs which everyone always uses as the meeting room and i planned out the seating. As i was doing this i felt i was being watched and i thought on ocassions that "someone" was peeking around the door to see what i was doing. To be honest i think it was just my mind playing tricks with me.

By now, the group started to return in stages and the meeting room began to fill up.
Around 8.00 pm my two mediums arrived at Stanley Palace and they started to set up a screen and a camera upstairs which would feed back down to us in the meeting room.

Everyone had returned and James and John [my two mediums] were seated ready to begin.

I formally introduced myself to the group explaining what we hoped to achieve and experience and politely warned them all of the intense concentration they would need during the night vigils.

Before i sat down i formally introduced James my medium to the group explaining to them what he had achieved in his time as a medium. I sat and we began to listen to his own experiences at other locations as well as viewing many different orbs and light anomolies on screen. The group were amazed to then hear spirit. Voices of male and female spirits caught on sound recorders detectors where you can clearly hear what they are saying.

As James was in the middle of his speech he stopped to look at the bottom end of the room and pointed to the corner explaining that a man [in spirit] was watching us and we all looked around to see nothing there...

...to be continued in part 2, coming soon
