I have been transfigured many times in the past but it has never affected my character. John [our medium] came outside to see how I was and I decided to have a quick chat with him back inside. We ventured upstairs and John explained that the monk or friar had been overcome by a very negative energy that wore a mask, a mask that resembled an executioner’s mask. Now I do know that Stanley Palace was used as law courts in the past but I have no knowledge of executions taking place at Stanley Palace. We arrived at Stanley Palace at 7.30 p.m. to be introduced by Daniel to James and John, our mediums for the evening. After a presentation regarding the paranormal, James then described how to use dowsing rods and crystals to communicate with spirits, and encouraged us all to try this for ourselves.

Stanley Palace is a 16th Century Grade 2 listed building looked after nowadays by a charitable society called "The friends of Stanley Palace". As my group and myself arrived at the building we were greeted by the owner who was also to be our historian for the night. As soon as i entered the hallway immediately the atmosphere changed. It felt heavy and repressive but could this have been my mind playing tricks with me. My group and myself were taken upstairs to a wating room which was actually his lounge. Luckily i had my cam corder switched on and within a minute an orb floated across my screen from left to right. At the precise moment,our medium felt the presence of a "strong minded" female spirit with us in the room.
